100% Savings ($64.10) at Walgreens.

Just got back from a research run at the local Walgreens.
Here is a GREAT deal!

Walgreens: Total Spent $0.00,  Saved $64.10,  100% Savings

Here are the coupons I used:
9 – $2.00 Bayer AM Coupons from RP 8/1
1 – $3.00 Walgreens Coupon from Wags August Coupon Booklet

Right now, Bayer AM is $2.00 OFF. The package of pencils are on sale for 9¢.

There is one major sticking point in order for you to duplicate this deal. The sale price comes off of the shelf listed price. If you want to as little as possible, the shelf price cannot be for more than $6.99, which will adjust down to $4.99. The pencils are a filler item because you have more coupons then items. With the pencils you now have the same.

If you decide to do this deal, if you want to purchase lesser amounts of Bayer AM the most it will cost you is 10¢, which when you think about it is not bad for a 50ct bottle of Bayer AM. BTW, Why would this product be called Bayer AM, well, it does have 65mg of caffeine, which on the active ingredients per capsule is an “Alertness Aid”

FREE Command Hooks at Walgreens.

Here is a super easy way to get FREE Command Hooks at Walgreens.

Right now Wags has a slew of different ones on sale for $1.50 each. Price on the Special sign MIGHT state 2/$3.00, but they are ringing up at $1.50, even if you only purchase one.

If you were lucky enough to find the elusive Smart Savings Booklet at your local Publix Supermarket, there is a $1.50/1 Command Product, any coupon that expires on 8/31/10.

By combining the Wags deal and the Manufacturer’s Coupon, all you will have to pay is the Sales Tax.

For those that look at the Smart Savings Booklet and go, “But Mark, it says Redeem at Publix”, you are correct, but it does not say Redeem ONLY at Publix. Big difference.

Thanks Jennifer at FabulesslyFrugalinFlorida for tipping me off to this FREE deal.

Also, if you go to Command’s website, there is a page with 2 $1.00/1 coupons. Click HERE to go there.

Walgreens & non printing RRs for Contour/Breeze 2 Meters.

I realize that this deal is almost over, but if you are purchasing the Bayer Contour ($30 RP 10/25) or Breeze 2 ($30 RP 10/25) Glucose Meters and purchase them at the  pharmacy window, your RRs most likely will not print out. If you purchase the meters together you should receive a $5 RR per meter and you will receive an additional $3 RR for purchasing the 2 Bayer products at the same time. One other $5 RR will also print out, which is good towards the purchase of sticks for the meters.

For some reason the pharmacy registers will not print the RRs. After this happens, some one from store management will come over and explain that the products are not RR eligible. After listening to the employee, I convince them to try to ring up the sale at a different register. When they do, the RRs print out and everyone is happy. BTW, I was purchasing the meters at the pharmacy because there wasn’t any stock on the store shelf, but the pharmacy had more on their’s.

Walgreens – More FREEBIES!!!!

I try most of my deals before I actually post them.  Here are some sweet deals I scored today!

(Coupon makes both FREE!!! We left a cashier scratching her head over this one, but the manager agreed it was correct.)

(Use both coupons to make them FREE!)

Hidden Coupons in Feb 2010 issue of Real Simple.

Here is an example of truly hidden coupons that I love to uncover for our readers. They may not be of the $10/$30 Whole Foods variety, but they are hidden none the less.

This is what you see when you come to the heavier than usual page in the
February 2010 issue of Real Simple Magazine

but then you realize that each of those 9 images are actually pull off stickers,
and after you pull the sickers off, you end up with this:
.
The coupons, all of which are manufacturer and expire 2/28/10 are:
$1.00 off Sensodyne Iso-Active 4.3oz (includes  whitening & multi-action)
$2.00 off Finest Natural Women’s Multi-Vitamin, 60ct
$2.00 off Finest Natural 1000mg Fish Oil, 200ct

Military Discounts at Walgreens?

I have received word from one of our loyal reader that most Walgreens stores also offer a military discount? All you have to do is produce your ID… active duty, reserve, dependent or retired. Our stores here locally (Volusia County, FL not near a base) do it on Tuesdays, and you have to go to the cosmetics counter to check out. Well worth it. You can get a 15% discount on name brand items, and 20% on Walgreens branded items. Tack on coupons and register rewards, and you can SAVE a a decent amount of money there.

After doing a VERY basic google search, I have the information I need to tell you to at the very least ask your store’s manager. I ill make some phone calls on MOnday to try to obtain the actual policy and if it is chain wide. Also, I want to clear up whether some stores extend the discount to First Responders and Educators.

If you are connected to the US Military, please let us know you experience in being extended a discount at Walgreens, regardless if you were in Florida or another state.

Thanks, Mark
