How to SAVE MONEY The Home Depot way.

The Home Depot, BTW, how many people actually say the word “The” in The Home Depot?

I recall when The Home Depot started to grow back in the late 70′s/early 80′s, and they were starting to open stores in Central Florida. It was a handyman heaven of sorts. One of the first “big box” or “segment killer” types of stores I can remember.

Though my Dad preferred to shop at Scotty’s or Snodgrass Hardware, he would also take me to Home Depot (Central Florida didn’t have Lowe’s yet). I was always amazed by the size of the place, the smell of freshly cut wood, and other scents attacking my nostrils as soon as the door opened.

Fast forward a few years, ok, decades, and I barely make it to Home Depot anymore, more or less because there isn’t one as close by as the Lowe’s is from our home. But, I do like to save money at both stores, so I sign up for all the programs I can.
