Debt Free Christmas!

Last year at this time I made a plan. Not to go into debt for  Christmas. I love how much more relaxed and stress free our holiday was because we weren’t concerned about paying bills in January. Here’s how we did it.

iPhone Apps:
There are a bunch of FREE “Sign-In/Check-In” types of apps for the iphone, but here are two that Mark uses every single day, and he has earned GameStop gift cards, Amazon cash, and more.

Shopkick: Very simple to use, check in at a store, and scan the bar codes shown. Can use this app all day, and the points add up fast. Can “check-in” to a store without having to actually be inside the store. Click HERE to download Shopkick via the iTunes AppStore. When registering from your iPhone, please use promo code reddeer21. Entering the promo code will add 100 “kickbucks” to your account.

Free Stuff
I saved all the free candles, body wash, socks and such to use a filler in gift baskets.

Next year my goal is to do even better! How did you do this Christmas? Mark & I hope that you had as close to as possible debt free Christmas. Did you find any year long money saving methods that worked better for you than others? What were they so we can all learn from each other.

Poynt, A FREE App download that you really need to have.

Poynt is a FREE download helps you get movie times, trailers and tickets.
Get Restaurant listings, nearby gas prices, business and people listings.
Poynt, a FREE iPhone, Android, and BlackBerry app.

I have this app on my iPhone and use it often. One of the features I like
is that when you are looking at a business listing, you have the ability
to save that info as a new contact. I also like how it uses OpenTable, an
app from which you can book a dinner reservation. Kathy and I have
used OpenTable many times, especially when we can’t decide where
to go, but know that wherever we want to go is packed.

So go ahead, and click the image above to see their info page,
or HERE if you have an iPhone.

Heinz Toss 4 Cash Florida Booklet at Publix with Coupon Match Ups

It is that time of year everyone, when we start seeing a bunch of booklets at Publix with either a college sports tie-in or football themes.

All of the coupons (except the match-ups in red, are Pubix store coupons and expire on 9/30).

Here is something cool about this booklet also, if you have a smartphone (with a camera) go to Microsoft’s FREE phone app (if you are like me and have an iPhone, click HERE to get the FREE APP via the App Store) that will read those multi-colored triangular looking squares that are a type of graphic meant to be read by smartphones. Yes, the irony is that many of the tags add the item to your shopping list, BUT the first one in the booklet is to enter for a chance to win $25,000.00. Contest begins on 8/16/10. Ah Spring, sweet scents fill the air from blossoming flowers, trees, etc, but even without all that, one sure way to tell that Spring is here is the annual Publix coupon display (about 4′ high triangular cardboard display) for $5.00 OFF the purchase of $25.00 or more in iTunes Gift Cards.
