It is that time of year everyone, when we start seeing a bunch of booklets at Publix with either a college sports tie-in or football themes.

All of the coupons (except the match-ups in red, are Pubix store coupons and expire on 9/30).

Here is something cool about this booklet also, if you have a smartphone (with a camera) go to Microsoft’s FREE gettag.mobi phone app (if you are like me and have an iPhone, click HERE to get the FREE APP via the App Store) that will read those multi-colored triangular looking squares that are a type of graphic meant to be read by smartphones. I was just at McDonalds.com and found a link to current promotions, and what did I find, but a link to print a $1.00 OFF coupon, which expires on August 15, 2010. Please note that if you decide to print this coupon, it will take up the majority of an 8.5″x11″ sheet of paper.

Of course, if you want to try a new Real Fruit Smoothie or Frappé at McDonalds FOR FREE, enter this contest and the lucky winner get 10 coupons (with the runner up receiving 5 coupons).

Ah yes, good ol’ Scruffy’s. For the better part of a decade (late 80′s through mid 90′s) I was the staff concert photographer for the Beacham Theater, and pretty much any nightclub in Orlando (Visage, Below Zero, Social, Beach Club (Faith in Physics, etc) in late 80′s through mid 90′s and Scruffy’s was one of the best places to go for my adult beverage of choice, Guinness. They knew how to pour it right, and was ALWAYS a wonderful group of people to work with.

I started to compose this post yesterday (7/4/10) with the intentions of coming back and finishing after I watched the Magic Kingdom fireworks, for free, from a very close by development, Very close to the Summerport Publix. We can see the fireworks from our back yard, but we are about 4 fours away. The location I have found is roughly a half mile from Reams Road and then the fireworks are about the same distance from Reams.

Last year we watched the fireworks from a field near the 429 entry ramp from New Independence Blvd (maybe Way). Here we were pretty much the only non-BIG pick up truck driving families there. Both locations had us watching the entire show instead of having to move our head from a blast here to one over there. Neither location has piped in sound. Though you can feel the concussion at either location, the 429 location is roughly 4 to 5 miles away. The residential location is where you see the firework explode and then instantly hear/feel the concussion.

Some of my other favorite 4th of July fireworks memories are (and always with family and or friends):
Near the USMC Memorial in Arlington, VA.

The rededication of the Statue of Liberty in NYC.

St. Pete Beach, FL.

Steamboat Springs, CO.

Taipei, Taiwan.

But, of all those places, the best place I like to be on the 4th is wherever I am with friends and family enjoying the same experience.

Under One Roof is a survey company that is new to me, but since it is sponsored by HGTV, Food Network, and diy Network, I decided to join. I took the first survey, about TV watching and what my watching habits are. It does not reward you point for doing surveys, but enters you in to sweepstakes.
