Though smaller than other aeronautical displays/museums in the Greater Orlando area, this is very much a prophead’s dream come true. It has been a few years since I was at KAM/WAF, but you will see warbirds in various stages of being rebuilt, and usually they are being done so to once again take to the sky.
A few years I have had the pleasure of walking among the parked wide bodies (so close to planes that we could kick the tires) in the Mojave desert, and let me tell you that this museum of sorts contained within a hanger and the surrounding area at Kissimmee Airport had no problem holding my attention for several hours. I am sure you will be just as impressed.

Several local museums, including the Orange County Regional History Center and the Albin Polasek Museum and Sculpture Gardens, are participating in the fifth annual Museum Day, presented by Smithsonian magazine, on Saturday, Sept. 26.
