MIndField Online, a Survey Company We Like.
Click here to register with MindField Online and begin taking surveys!
I have been taking surveys via MindField Online for a few months and I like what I am seeing so far. The one word of advice I can give you is that you have to do a survey as soon as it hits your email box. If you wait a while, even a couple of hours, you will find that some surveys have already reached their maximum replies.
Here is what you will see in the email alerting you to a new survey. I have edited the email solely to keep the wording generic by exchanging the real info for dashes.
“MindField Online has a new and exciting opportunity. This study will take between — to — minutes to complete. Should you qualify for and complete all study requirements your account will be credited $–.00 within — to — days once the total quota has been met for this study. If for some reason you are disqualified for the study, you will be entered into a drawing conducted once every month for cash prizes totaling $500.00.”

Have You Joined Swagbucks?
I originally was going to title this “I Love Swagbucks“, but it sounded a tad bit weird.
A couple of days ago I won my 7,000th Swagbuck and am holding on to them until I use them to purchase gift cards, mostly to Amazon for Christmas and Hanukah shopping ($5.00 Amazon GC is only 450 Swagbucks). Maybe a few of those Amazon Gift Cards will be given away to some lucky FrugalFloridian.com readers.
For those that have no idea what swagbucks is, it is a search engine that pays you to use it. No, NOT EVERYTIME you search, but you will be surprised how often you will gain “SwagBucks” just for typing a few characters into their search bar.
Here is the painless method to join (and find out more prior to signing up):
1. Go here and register.
Both Kathy and I have enjoyed searching via SwagBucks, and like telling people about the company.

Interesting Hair Cuttery Coupon, or when is a $25 Purchase not a $25 Purchase.
I found this $5/$25 coupon in the August 29th Orlando Sentinel. To see what else I found, please view this POST.
The wording of this coupon piqued my interest because I wondered what Hair Cuttery considered a purchase to be. I have now called 4 different salons in the Orlando area, and received 3 different answers. 2 told me that each person’s bill is rung up separately, and that that coupon is really meant for women who are getting a bunch of services done. The other salon told me that she THINKS it would be ok to have 2 haircuts as one purchase (my young son and I), but she wasn’t sure. The one hold out told me to call her corporate office and to talk to someone about selling them advertising. After she finally understood that I was not selling advertising but was calling about a Hair Cuttery coupon, she told me that her store does not accept coupons and then said she had to go and hung up.
So, does anyone out there know what Hair Cuttery considers to be a purchase?
Don’t Toss Your 8/29/10 Orlando Sentinel yet.
Besides the 60¢/1 Kellogg’s Raisin Bran coupon in the PARADE Magazine (see post here), I found a McD’s Sheet of Coupons (B1G1′s on a bunch of their food), a sheet of coupons for Shoney’s, and a $5/$25 coupon sticker on the front page of the Orlando Sentinel’s Orange Extra section. I will have more detailed info up later, but I am in a time crunch right now and just wanted to make sure that you don’t let these sheets go through your fingers.
Coupon in the 8/29/10 PARADE Magazine.

Coming August 30th: Boca Java’s ATOMIC Coffee
Hello, my name is Mark, and I am a coffee drinker. Usually black, sometimes warm, sometimes room temp because it is in a 40oz cup and I have filled it at least once already. Yes, I drink coffee like it was water.
When I received an email from Boca Java about their new product ATOMIC, with more caffeine than a typical cup of coffee, I sent back a reply asking, “Hello Boca Java, In a standard sized cup of coffee, how much caffeine does Atomic coffee have? Thanks, Mark”
Here is their reply:
“Mark, Very good question. We actually had to call our RoastMaster on vacation to find the answer out. You normally measure coffee in 5 oz. so with the new Atomic coffee you are looking at an approxmate of 237.50 mg of caffeine in the 5 oz. cup. Thanks – (Boca Java)”
A standard 12oz Coke (per their website) has 34mg of caffeine and a standard Mt. Dew (not Code Red, Volt, etc) has 36mg (per their website).
I have not yet sampled ATOMIC, though I think it will help on those long marathon sessions typing up the store inserts for FrugalFloridian.com. I have had many of their other coffees, and have enjoyed them all.
So it is only natural that I can’t wait to test ATOMIC from Boca Java, coming August 30, 2010.
Poynt, A FREE App download that you really need to have.

Poynt is a FREE download helps you get movie times, trailers and tickets.
Get Restaurant listings, nearby gas prices, business and people listings.
Poynt, a FREE iPhone, Android, and BlackBerry app.
I have this app on my iPhone and use it often. One of the features I like
is that when you are looking at a business listing, you have the ability
to save that info as a new contact. I also like how it uses OpenTable, an
app from which you can book a dinner reservation. Kathy and I have
used OpenTable many times, especially when we can’t decide where
to go, but know that wherever we want to go is packed.
So go ahead, and click the image above to see their info page,
or HERE if you have an iPhone.
