Blinky Coupons 101
What the heck is a Blinky you say? Blinky is the nickname for the coupons that come out of the little boxes as you walk past them (and almost always the property of SmartSource). The blinky part is because there is a red blinking light in the sides, so matter which way you are walking down the aisle the red blinking light catches your eye. When you are in the frozen food section, they really stand out because they are suction cupped to the doors. In the aisles it is a tad bit tougher to spot, especially if the battery has not been changed lately. In Central Florida, Publix has the most Blinky type machines, though other stores also have them.

I send the kids down the aisles scouting out these. The blinkies are good to save, because I have noticed that at Publix, these machines are permanently affixed to a product about 3 weeks before they are on sale. For instance, the Bailey’s creamers had a $1.00 off blinkie. The next week, they were on sale 2 for $3, and the blinkie machine was empty! Luckily I had a few from a previous visit, and got the bottles for .25 each. To make a long story short, save the blinkies for a future shopping trip. A good one out now is the B1G1 baby foods. They have a shelf life until 2011, so you can stock up now until your baby is ready for solids.
