This coupon was in the Sunday, 11/29/09 Orlando Sentinel, and I am sure it was also in other city papers that have a BJ’s. Since it was in the Sunday paper, that means that over the next few days we will be receiving a few of these coupons, so if you leave a comment, we will be happy to mail you a coupon. BTW, we prefer to make our own microwave popcorn.
Here is a recipe my Dad gave me a couple of years ago:
1. Open a brown lunch bag, pour just enough popping corn to cover the bottom.
2. Drop in a teaspoon spoon full of butter/maragarine, etc. (Doesn’t matter where it lands on the pile.)
3. Fold over the 1/2″ to 3/4″ of the bag on to itself, just so it is closed. If you want to roll it down a tad more, no problem, but the bag WILL BE FULL after all the popping corn has popped.
4. Place the bag on a plate and put the plate into your microwave.
5. Select the “popcorn” setting and let the machine go to work. It take a couple of minutes at most.
On our oven, the bag is full with about 15/20 minutes left.
6. When done, CAREFULLY remove the bag from the microwave, and dump the cooked treat into a bowl.

Salt or don’t salt, its up to you. BTW, the plate has no actual role, other than to prevent the butter from spreading across the inside of your microwave as it melts. A folded paper towel will work as well.

Yesterday I found this magazine at the Walgreens across International Drive from Wet ‘n Wild.

While looking through it, in the center is a 4 page section packed with 108 coupons (will post more about the other coupons later), and one caught my eye, “Redeem for Free Hat” from the Bass Pro Shop and here is the hat we were given at the customer service desk, no purchase required:

This is an upgrade from the $5.95 mesh cap it could have been. The customer service person told me that they almost never give out the mesh cap, and instead use this $9.99 cloth Bass Pro Shop Logo Caps (right now they are giving away the red color, but it is free for gosh sakes).

Now that we had our free caps in hand, we proceeded to the activities area. I did not realize that everything had already been going on since October, but here are some of the activities taking place (which is ALL FREE to participate in): a Fishing Video game (Wii, XBox, etc), slot car racing, soft stick (think NERF) target shooting, large RC 4×4 truck area, and get this, you can also get a FREE 4″x6″ photo with Santa. There is also a milk and cookies type snack area, train display, and you build it crafts area. Want more info on this event, go here.
